Evaluation of Total Oxidant and Total Antioxidant Status in Patients with Acne Vulgaris

Acne vulgaris is a common skin disease and has complex pathogenesis. There no enough data related with oxidative stress in acne vulgaris. We purposed to assess total oxidant antioxidant status included 32 patients 35 healthy controls this study. Global Grading System (GAGS) scores were calculated. Serum (TOS) (TAS) levels evaluated index (OSI) was calculated by proportion of the TOS TAS. Mean GAGS 14.08 ± 5.72. duration 33.97 25.99 months. TAS, OSI significantly higher (p=0.010, p=0.021, p=0.015, respectively). not correlated (p>0.05). Both increased patients. The study showed that may play role pathogenesis but it isn’t exactly known cause or result acne. Advanced studies especially comparing mild moderate severe are required.
